Libreboot provides libre boot firmware (based on coreboot) that initializes the hardware (e.g. memory controller, CPU, peripherals) on specific Intel/AMD x86 and ARM targets, which then starts a bootloader for your operating system (Linux/BSD).

it is already mentioned in the policy page, and freedom states page. it doesn't belong in the build instructions, where the user is only interested in building libreboot. politics and tech should be separate, even if the libreboot project is very political in general.
